This historic 9' mahogany haberdashery cabinet with 24 new drawers was originally used in a Portland, OR hat store and an apothecary in the 1920’s and 1930’s before it was stored in a warehouse building for several decades. Reimagined, rebuilt, restored and refinished. This piece is built to last beyond another 100 years!
Original cedar, mahogany and alder frame. The smooth sliding drawers have been rebuilt with solid 1/2" baltic birch joints, antique brushed brass pulls and mahogany drawer fronts (some original, some new). Solid African Mahogany top. Original tongue and groove rear panels outward facing with beadboard interior (A work of art behind the drawers!). Eight metal legs provide the base with ample support.
Eight additional storage cubbies on the bottom of the rear panel can be used as secret compartments if unit is placed against a wall. Each cubby can be accessed through the front by removing the drawer above the compartment.
A versatile large scale cabinet ideally suited in a retail environment, hotel, library, an oversized sofa table, office space, and more! The uses are endless this with show-stopping solid wood haberdashery or apothecary cabinet. The backing is almost too pretty to have against a wall - so it makes for a wonderful retail counter top.
